You Down With Phosphate Free?... Yeah You Know Me!

Many people relate soap, which dates back to Ancient Rome, as one of mankind’s greatest, if not more unassuming, creations. For centuries, soaps and detergents were organically-based, which meant they degraded easily with no ill-effect on the environment. Once synthetic, inorganically-based soaps and detergents began to appear after World War II, a new environmental threat was introduced… Artificial eutrophication. This refers to the rapid acceleration of phosphate compounds in freshwater sources that act like fertilizer for plants and algae and speed up their rate of growth. This results in algal blooms and bacterial growth that consumes dissolved oxygen in the water, suffocating fish and mollusks in the process. Eventually, the body of water fills in with organic matter and disappears. Granted, this process happens naturally over thousands of years, but human activities & products has caused this to happen in as little as a decade!

Eagle recognizes that we must be responsible stewards of Earth and we have committed to utilizing phosphate-free products in our efforts to reduce artificial eutrophication. We also only use green products that have been labeled as "Designed for Environment" (DFE), meaning the product has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and follows strict guidelines to reduce chemical exposure to both cleaning workers and building occupants.

Eagle Building Maintenance and Janitorial Services proudly practices Green Cleaning. Our cleaners are green cleaning professionals who have been trained in the latest scientific-based green cleaning standards. Through the use of green products and procedures, this equates to a healthier environment for a better tomorrow… Starting today.
